Health and Welfare
The Naval Special Warfare Foundation provides numerous Health and Welfare programs for the Naval Special Warfare Community. Our focus is on tragedy assistance as a result of the loss Navy SEALs and Naval Special Warfare personnel in the War on Terror. The NSW Foundation provids assistance to both the SEAL Teams and the families affected. The NSW Foundation funds airfare that brings family members for Memorial Services. We pay for hotel rooms for these families. We support the community by covering the cost of the Memorial receptions, both at the Group level and Team level. We fund items for the displays and the shadow boxes. We organize a food delivery service for the families and provide them with baskets of necessities often overlooked during stressful times. Additionally,NSW Foundation offers free financial counseling to the widows.
The Naval Special Warfare Foundation also provides numerous family activities throughout the year. Whether it is the NSW Family Campout on the East or West Coast, the Kid's Sports Day, Easter Egg Rolls or Halloween and Holiday Parties, we support them all!
NSW Foundation is also the organizer of the S.W.A.T., SEAL Wives Against Terrorism, Boat Tour. These women, made up of current Navy SEAL wives and widows, have navigated Zodiac Boats from Norfolk to NYC (2003) and from Norfolk to Annapolis and Washington D.C. (2005). Through this awareness raising tour, these women have been able to bring to the attention of the country the strength and sacrifice it takes to be a Navy SEAL. The tour has received national publicity, with appearences on the Today Show, MSNBC, and others.
